Power BI | Data Science Salaries

Project SummaryA one page dashboard analysing Data Science Salaries, from January 2020 to April 2023.I wanted to know:
- What is the most common job title in 2023?
- How has demand changed over time?
- How do On-Site, Hybrid and Remote roles differ?
Dataset location: https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/arnabchaki/data-science-salaries-2023Steps taken:
- connected to the dataset formatted as a .csv file
- evaluated dataset for anomalies/outliers/NULLs
- created DAX calculations to normalise data, e.g. US Dollars to GB Pounds conversion
- created a data dictionary tab for easy end-user accessibility
- exploratory analysis, focussed on job titles, experience level, average salary
- compiled one page dashboard with relevant visualisations to answer the pre-defined questions
- called out findings for end-user readability
Key Findings:
Data Engineer is the most common job role in 2023, although Data Scientist and Data Analyst also hold a significant portion of the job space.
Demand has rapidly increased for data specific roles in the last 2 years, with the Senior Level roles having the highest increase.Although hybrid working is a policy a lot of companies are looking to undertake, the data indicates this is in its infancy as only 5% of the share is attributed to this. Both On-Site and Remote roles have seen noteworthy growth in terms of average salary, whereas hybrid roles have actually seen a small decline.
